Faint-heart Gillian McKeith's jungle drama

Dietician Gillian McKeith appeared to faint on the reality TV show I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here after she was picked for her seventh challenge.

The Scottish nutritionist dramatically collapsed on live television after being told by hosts Ant and Dec that the public had voted for her to take part in yet another mission.

The dramatic scenes came after viewers had earlier seen the 51-year-old reveal she was feeling "mentally exhausted" after refusing to take part in her sixth bushtucker trial.

Medics were called in to revive her and Ant and Dec then cut to a break, revealing that McKeith had been excluded from the task on medical grounds. However, some viewers suggested that her fainting episode was nothing more than a ruse to get out of doing the task.

Television celebrity Phillip Schofield called it a fake on his Twitter site. The presenter of This Morning wrote: "I have never seen a slower faint! Am I being horrid here? But fake."

It is not the first time that the nutritionist has appeared to faint. Earlier in the series, she collapsed after being locked in a box with rats.

Viewers have started a campaign to make her do every bushtucker trial.
