The Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland said it was increasing from three to four the number of councillors representing Bathgate.
It said the move reflected the increase in the size of the electorate in the ward and brought it into line with other areas in West Lothian.

Hide AdHowever, the Commission said it did not intend to make changes to electoral arrangements in Edinburgh following a review of the City Centre ward, where the number of electors per councillor differs significantly from the average for the council.
