It is thought that Whyte had begun negotiations with his wife in order to prevent the car being sold at auction.
The latest bid comes after Kim won a previous attempt through the courts to sell the 1996 Bentley, but the sale was halted at the last minute after Whyte’s father Tom’s company stepped in and claimed ownership of the vehicle.
Craig and Kim Whyte split in 2009 after nine years of marriage and have three children. It is believed that Whyte agreed to pay £5000 a month in maintenance to his wife in a separation agreement.
