The trams also helped to earn us a Front Page of the Year nomination. When the shock decision was taken to stop the tram line at Haymarket we memorably dressed up the main party leaders as clowns under the headline “What a Joke”.

Frank Boyle is in the running for Cartoonist of the Year, while our successful “Say No To Coe” campaign to prevent Olympic rings being attached to side of Edinburgh Castle has made the Campaign of the Year shortlist.

The awards ceremony will be held in Glasgow on April 19.
