Show cleared of swan cruelty

Footage on the YouTube website alleged that a film crew from The One Show was provoking a swan in Cambridge.

The Monday edition of the show included a feature about a swan in Cambridge after newspaper reports about rowers being attacked.

Viewers were told that the swan in the film had not been provoked.

The RSPCA spokeswoman said footage of a crew filming the swan had been taken by a member of the public – who complained about the bird being provoked – and then uploaded on to YouTube.

She said RSPCA staff had watched the footage and the show and decided to take no action.
