FUNDING of £5 million from the Scottish Government will help bring broadband to remote communities.

Infrastructure secretary Alex Neil announced the money to help kickstart a South of Scotland Alliance project which aims to install next-generation broadband across the region by 2020. It is part of a £144.3m funding pot to ensure faster internet across all of Scotland.
