In Pictures: Humpback whale spotted in Firth of Forth against Fife and Edinburgh backdrop

The Firth of Forth has once again become the focus for whale watchers as a humpback appears to have taken up residence between Edinburgh and Fife.

Each year around this time the Forth is often used by humpback whales as a feeding ground as they prepare to head further north.

This year has already seen some exciting breaches, where the whale pushes itself up out of the water, and as ever there were plenty of cameras to catch the moment – especially from the Forth Marine Mammals group.
