Owner search for M74 cat who ‘cheated death’
Scotland’s animal welfare charity is appealing for the owner of a fluffy feline that was hit on the M74 in Rutherglen, between Junction 1 and Junction 2. The terrified pet, estimated to be around four years old, was spotted on the central reservation of the motorway.
She is now recovering in the care of the Scottish SPCA at their rehoming centre in Cardonald where she has been nicknamed Trinity.

Inspector Kerry Friel said: “I’d like to thank Police Scotland for their assistance as they stopped the traffic so I could rescue Trinity from the central reservation.
“She is one very lucky cat as she has injuries indicating she was hit by a car.
“Remarkably, Trinity has managed to escape with just a few cuts and bruises.
“She is wearing a collar but isn’t microchipped so unfortunately we have been unable to trace her owner.
“We really hope someone comes forward for her after all she has been through.
“If not, we’ll find Trinity a loving new home.”
