Iberdrola’s Scottish arm in French push

IBERDROLA’S global offshore wind division in Glasgow has submitted bids for two vast projects in France, in a move that would see all planning work carried out in Scotland.

ScottishPower-owner Iberdrola is leading a consortium bidding for two sites off the Brittany and Atlantic coasts that would generate enough power to sustain 1.2 million homes a year.

The consortium also includes French companies Eole Res, Areva, Technip and Neoen Marine.

The global offshore wind business is overseen by ScottishPower Renewables chief executive Keith Anderson.
