Glasgow bids to be ‘dear green capital’

Glasgow has been shortlisted for a top European environmental award.

The city, known as the “dear green place”, is one of four still in the running to be crowned the 2015 European Green Capital in the summer.

Bristol, Brussels in Belgium and Slovenian capital Ljubljana are the other three hopefuls. No British city has yet won the title, which was first awarded in 2010.
