Edinburgh Zoo prepares for flamingo mating season

Breeding season for the 34 Chilean flamingos – including three 53-year-old males – is just around the corner at Edinburgh Zoo, and the keepers are doing their bit to encourage courtship behaviour.

Around 25 mud nests will be built by the keepers.
