Elderly cyclist killed in crash near Inverness named

THE elderly cyclist who was killed on Tuesday in a collision with a car on the outskirts of Inverness has been named as Alistair MacBean, 74, Dalneigh area of Inverness.

Mr MacBean died when his pedal cycle collided with a Honda car on the A82 Inverness to Fort William road at the Dunain straights, just south of Inverness, on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said: “A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
