Edinburgh pub to screen 3D football match

AN EDINBURGH pub will take part in the world's first 3D football broadcast on Sunday.

The English Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester United will be broadcast by Sky Sports in 3D to just nine pubs across Britain.

Football fans at the pubs in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Dublin will don glasses to become the first public audiences anywhere in the world to watch live 3D sport.

The top-of-the-table clash will be the public's first taste of live 3D football ahead of Sky's dedicated 3D channel launching in April.

Sky will broadcast a weekly 3D Premier League game to hundreds more pubs this spring, as well as the games being available to its Sky+HD home customers.

The exact location of the pubs taking part in Sunday's test screening are not being revealed due to fears of overcrowding.
