Edinburgh pub attack leaves two in hospital

TWO men have been hospitalised after they were assaulted outside a pub in Leith in the early hours of Saturday morning.

One man aged 31 had to have 36 stitches to his back and a 23-year-old man is receiving treatment for a head injury at St John’s Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian.

They were injured in a disturbance outside the Volunteer Arms pub just after 1am on Leith Walk.

Two men aged 26 have been arrested and are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the assault.

Police are keen to trace another man who was at the scene. He is described as white, in his early 20s, with short, light brown hair. He was wearing a black top, jeans and a jacket.
