Edie tells of ‘delight’ at taking charge

FORMER health and social care convener Paul Edie has been elected to lead the much-diminished band of Liberal Democrats on the city council.

The Corstorphine/Murrayfield councillor was one of only three Lib Dems elected on May 3.

Cllr Edie, a member since 1994, said: “I am delighted to be leading the Liberal Democrats.

Edinburgh needs strong liberal voices especially as we are facing an emboldened administration with a large majority.

“We have much to be proud of during our time in power and I will be doing all I can to protect those achievements.”
