Ecclefechan man dies after attack in home

A man has died after an attack at his home in Dumfries and Galloway.

The 40-year-old was assaulted at his house in Ecclefechan last night.

Paramedics attended the property on Peacock Place at around 10.15pm but he died at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing at this time and police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Peacock Place in the village to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious around that time.”
