Earthy digs in at new store

A NEW food market opens today specialising in produce grown in and around the city.

Earthy, which already has stores in Causewayside and Portobello, is opening a branch in Canonmills.

The new market has created 20 full-time jobs and will support suppliers in the Lothians and throughout Scotland.

Earthy director Pete Jackson said: “We’re turning the tide and taking local shops back into local communities as an alternative to the big supermarkets

“Our Canonmills store is just around the corner from a major supermarket but we are confident local people will want to support an Edinburgh company that really cares about what people eat and where it comes from.”

The store, on Canonmills Bridge, will also offer sit-in dining.
