Dundee robber ‘fled on motorcycle’ after attack

A man was assaulted and robbed of a four-figure sum of cash by a man who made his getaway on a motorbike.

The victim got into his parked Mitsubishi Warrior in Dundee’s Strathmartine Road yesterday at 8:50am. He was approached by a man in his early twenties who reached into the vehicle, assaulted him and made off with a bag containing the money.

The man, who had brown hair and wore dark clothing and white trainers, got on the back of a small motorbike, driven by another person, which drove off.

The rider of the motorcycle, believed to be a Kawasaki 85cc or 125cc, was wearing a white or light blue helmet. The bike was last seen heading in the direction of Kingsway.

Police Scotland said the victim was taken to the city’s Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

Officers are examining CCTV footage from the area and are keen to hear from anyone who saw the motorbike in the area or who witnessed the incident.
