The teenager was part of a gang which laid siege to the council-owned park’s floodlights during a wrecking spree in North Berwick last year.
Maxwell Hook, 17, was the only one of the gang to be charged. He was ordered to pay a £600 compensation order after an appearance at Haddington Sheriff Court.
Hook, from North Berwick, pleaded guilty to maliciously causing £2500 damage to the floodlights during an incident between August 1 and 3, 2011.
Defence agent Vincent Belmonte said his client had plans to apply to university to do a computing course.
He added: “He apologises to the court and to the local authority for his behaviour.”
