Drugs warning after doctor’s bag stolen

POLICE have issued a warning following the theft of a doctor’s bag containing potentially fatal drugs in South Lanarkshire.

A doctor discovered the bag had been stolen from his car in Bothwell on Friday night.

It was recovered a short time later at Clyde Terrace but a quantity of medication, including intravenous pethidine and morphine sulphate, was missing.

Detective Inspector Una Maider from Blantyre Police Office said: “Many of the drugs stolen can prove fatal if not taken under medical supervision.”
