Drugs seized in police swoops

Drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000 have been seized in two police raids.

Six men and a woman have been charged in connection with the separate inquiries, which saw officers swoop on properties in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

In one operation, police seized amphetamine and cannabis worth an estimated £56,250 after raiding an address in Lorne Street. They also netted more than £4,000 in cash.

A 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were charged in connection with alleged drugs offences.

In another inquiry, police stormed a property in East Pilton Farm Avenue, where they found herbal cannabis, thought to have a street value of £37,500. Five men have been arrested and charged.
