Drink-drive zero limit bid

young drivers would face a zero alcohol limit if the Scottish Government can persuade Westminster to hand over more powers on drink driving.

Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill has already unveiled plans to cut the limit for all drivers. But now he wants a lower limit for drivers under 24, who are more at risk of an accident after drinking.

He said: “We intend to approach the UK Government again to seek further powers on drink driving, such as the ability to prescribe differential limits for different types of drivers.”
