Dog rescued from ravine

A DOG who is thought to have fallen 40 metres down a ravine is recovering at home after a dramatic rescue by firefighters.

Border terrier Meg was trapped on a ledge for nearly three hours after apparently plunging down a steep embankment at Roslin Glen last night.

Fire crews were called to the scene around 6pm and set up a line rescue to navigate the steep drop.

Firefighters called out to reassure Meg while the equipment was set up, before one crew member descended to the ledge and rescued her around 8.50pm.

She was uninjured and was able to return home with her owner.
