Dog found fatally injured on Perth golf course

TAYSIDE Police today launched an investigation after a pet dog was found with fatal throat injuries on a Perth golf course.

It is feared that the dog, a Cairn terrier, was killed on the city’s Craigie Hill Golf Course after being attacked by another dog.

A force spokesman said: “The much-loved Cairn Terrier cross was being walked at about 5.30am to 6am when its owner stopped to help another dog walker look for one of her greyhounds near to the 9th and 10th holes. After tracing the greyhound, the woman left with her pets and the man went to look for his terrier. He found his pet on the 14th hole fatally injured.

“The pet dog had fatal throat injuries after it was apparently attacked by another dog.”

He added: “Police officers are keen to trace anyone who was in the area at around the time of the incident as they may have information useful to enquiries. They are particularly keen to trace the greyhounds’ owner. She is described as being 5ft 6ins tall, with long dark brown hair and at the time she was wearing large puffa-style jacket with a fur-style lined hood. She had an Eastern European accent. The woman had a black-coloured female greyhound on a lead, and a male brown-coloured greyhound. Both dogs wore black coats.”
