Developer’s contributions will be paid to help extend the local primary and secondary schools, to upgrade Wallyford Park, for road improvements and a portion will also be given to a heritage plan to recognise the Battle of Pinkie.

Derek Wilson, technical director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, the development was a “flagship site”.

“These are particularly exciting plans for the local area of Musselburgh and much anticipated and will allow Taylor Wimpey to contribute positively to the area,” he said. “We will deliver high-quality family homes, as well as a significant proportion of much needed affordable housing.”
