A number of locals said the fire damage will be “devastating” for the children who use the outdoor learning space at the nursery.

A post on the fundraising page reads: “On the night of 30th October, the Pitreavie Nursery Gardens were devastatingly destroyed by a fire.

“The staff have worked tirelessly to provide an outdoor learning space for the children and in a second it has been destroyed.”

Police have been contacted for more details.

There are not thought to be any injuries as a result of last night’s incident.
