Debt eats up 60% of monthly income

PEOPLE struggling with debt spend nearly 60 per cent of their income on monthly repayments.

The Consumer Credit Counselling Service said the average person who contacted it for help last year owed 22,476 on credit cards, loans and overdrafts, with monthly minimum repayments of 676.
