Death smash cyclist is named by police

A CYCLIST who was killed in a collision with a vehicle in the Borders has been named by police.

Mark Sanderson, from Lochrin Place in Tollcross, died at around 4.20pm on Monday on the A703 near Peebles.

The 53-year-old is believed to have lost control of his bike and veered into the southbound carriageway, colliding with a Fiat Panda. Inquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact police.
