Death of Inverness boy, 2, ‘unexplained’

THE Highland division of Police Scotland has launched an investigation into the “unexplained” death of a two-year-old boy in Inverness.

The emergency services were called to an address in Mackintosh Road in the Raigmore area of the city on Sunday. But efforts to save the little boy were unsuccessful.

The boy who died has still to be named.

A force spokesman said today: “Police are currently investigating the death of a two year-old boy in the Mackintosh Road area of Inverness, which was reported on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were called around 3.06pm yesterday, to the address and attempts were made to resuscitate him but these were sadly unsuccessful.”

He continued: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will be carried out. The next of kin have been informed.”
