Death crash motorcyclist is named

A MOTORCYCLIST who died in hospital after his bike collided with a roadside barrier was last night named by police.

Thomas Travers was on the A809 Milngavie to Drymen road in Stirlingshire when he apparently lost control on a right-hand bend, near Queen's View car park.

He was taken to the Western General Infirmary in Glasgow following the incident at around 9:30pm on Thursday, but died a short time later.

The 39-year-old was from the Cambuslang area. A police spokesman said his family had asked for their privacy to be respected.

The road, which links Glasgow with the Lomond and Trossachs National Park, was closed for about six hours to allow the police to conduct a collision investigation.

Police have identified a 52-year-old man who died after a crash on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway on Thursday as Polish national Wojciech Grabowska, who lived in Gatehouse of Fleet.
