Dawe quick to heap praise on super-fast broadband

COUNCIL leader Jenny Dawe has welcomed a major expansion of super-fast broadband in a part of the Capital.

Davidson’s Mains is among 18 places in Scotland to get a fibre upgrade, which will be made available to 4500 homes and businesses there by spring next year.

BT’s £2.5 billion roll-out of super-fast fibre broadband will also benefit Bathgate in West Lothian.

Councillor Dawe said: “I am delighted that Davidson’s Mains will be included in BT Scotland’s £2.5bn super-fast broadband programme. Residents and businesses in the area will benefit from the investment in this technology which will both assist economic growth and enhance leisure experiences for many households.”

Brendan Dick, BT Scotland director, said it would bring a major economic boost to the area.

He added: “This is a further major BT investment for Edinburgh.

“Our roll-out of fibre broadband is going from strength to strength.”
