Dawe presses home rail-link case

CITY leader Jenny Dawe is set to press for Edinburgh to be included in plans for a high-speed rail network when she meets Scottish Secretary Michael Moore today.

Councillor Dawe joined forces with the leader of Glasgow City Council last week in calling for Scotland to be part of a proposed high-speed network.

She will today meet with Mr Moore at the City Chambers to put the case for why the Capital must form part of the plans for the 30 billion rail link. She said: "This meeting is recognition of Edinburgh's importance not just to Scotland but to the UK as a whole.

"The meeting will provide me with a great opportunity to promote Edinburgh's priorities."
