Darren goal raises Barr for punters

FAMILY bonds paid off for the relatives of Hearts’ unlikely scorer Darren Barr.

He was quizzed on the Tynecastle pitch yesterday over rumours that members of his family had got odds of 50-1 on him to score the first goal at Hampden.

But it wasn’t only members of the Barr family who had more than one reason to cheer his opener.

After Saturday’s game, Mick Gaynor, of Corstorphine, said: “I had £10 on. It’s paid for far more than my day out.”

He added: “I’m off to spend the rest now.”
