Dance group gets in shape for the Mela

MEMBERS of the dance group Cargo put on a special performance at Leith Links yesterday to launch this year's Edinburgh Mela Festival.

The event, which takes place from 6-8 August, will feature acts including best newcomer in the UK Asian Music Awards, Jaz Dhami, Punjabi rapper duo Bonafide and Northern Xposure, the Bafta-nominated brother and sister rapping duo from Edinburgh.

This year's event has been moved from Pilrig Park to Leith Links due to its growing popularity.
