Cyclists set for 200-mile fundraiser

A TEAM of 21 cyclists will set off from St Columba's Hospice today on the 200-mile Celtic Challenge.

It is hoped the five day trip to Iona will raise more than 20,000 for the hospice's rebuild fund.

Martin Lawlor, Campaign Fundraising Manager for the hospice will be one of the cyclists.

He said: "This is the first Celtic Challenge and the response has been fantastic. We're absolutely delighted with the commitment and dedication our cyclists have shown to raising funds - some people have managed to raise more than 2,000 each, which is an amazing effort. We're hoping to raise over 20,000, which will go a long way towards building our new St Columba's Hospice.

"We are incredibly lucky to have such support behind us and we have a great team who are all raring to go."
