Cyclist's killer pays with life

A MUSICIAN who ran into a young mother in his car stabbed her to death to avoid being sued for compensation.

Yao Jiaxin, 21, was executed yesterday in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province in north-west China.

The music student was sentenced to death in Xi'an on 22 April for the murder of Zhang Miao, 26, last October.

The court heard he hit her bicycle with his car and drove off, but later murdered her fearing she saw his number plate and would track him down.
