Cyclists hit by11 lights fines

POLICE have fined 11 cyclists for riding bikes without lights in the Capital in the last four years, new figures have shown.

Seven cyclists were given £30 fines for failing to use lights during 2010, two in Frederick Street and one each in Lothian Road, High Street, The Mound, Montrose Terrace and North Bridge.

During 2009, two cyclists in Queen Street and George Street were caught while two were fined in the previous year after being stopped in Buccleuch Street and Grange Road. No fines were issued last year.
