Cyclist hurt in road crash

A CYCLIST was injured after being hit by a car in Bruntsfield at around 7.35am today.

It is understood the man, thought to be in his mid-20s, was struck by the vehicle near Leamington Terrace and was seen to have bounced off the windscreen before hitting the ground.

A member of the public alerted the emergency services, and police and paramedics came to the scene. An ambulance spokesperson said: "The severity of his injuries are not yet known."
