Police said they were treating the death of the 55-year-old man, who was found lying in Clark Road in the north of the city yesterday afternoon, as “unexplained”.
A member of the public rang the emergency services after finding the cyclist, who was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but died soon after.

Hide AdA police spokesperson said: “Lothian and Borders Police are making inquiries following the unexplained death of a 55-year-old man.
“Emergency services raced to a cycle path close to Clark Road at 5.20pm in the Trinity area of the city where a man was found lying in the road.
“He was rushed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but later passed away.
“Inquiries are at an early stage and a report has been passed to the procurator fiscal.”
