Curry favour for homeless

A RESTAURATEUR renowned for making one of the hottest curries in Scotland is bringing some heat to Edinburgh's homeless people this Christmas.

Assader Ali, who owns three curry houses in the capital, intends to become a spicy Santa tomorrow.

He is cooking a massive batch of turkey jalfrezi for staff to hand out to the homeless to help keep them warm amid one of the coldest Decembers on record.

The chef is a Muslim and does not celebrate Christmas, but he is still shutting up shop and taking his curries around the city.
