Crowd’s support is overwhelming

TWO competitors left stunned by the level of support from the crowds were judo stars Sally Conway and Christopher Sherrington.

Sally, 25, who lives in the Capital, said: “The turnout at the parade was just amazing – the crowds were backing up through the streets. Personally I’m just overwhelmed by it all.

“I don’t think if you asked anyone before the Olympic Games that they would have predicted anything like this.”

Royal Marine Christopher, 29, from Broxburn, said: “It’s great to be home, and it’s an honour to be here wearing the beret.”
