Crowd stands for SuBo at show’s finale

SINGER Susan Boyle received a standing ovation as she sang at the finale of the opening night of the musical based on her life.

Fans from across the world travelled to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal to see I Dreamed A Dream last night.

The show charts her life growing up in Blackburn, West Lothian, until she was catapulted to world fame in 2009 after her jaw-dropping audition for Britain’s Got Talent. She is played by Elaine C Smith, who co-wrote the show and who herself demonstrates a talented voice. She won a standing ovation – as did the rest of the cast – at the curtain call.
