Twelve fined after police raid illegal lock-in at Scottish pub

Police were tipped off by a member of the public.

A group of people have been fined for having a pub lock-in during the coronavirus pandemic.

Eleven men and one woman were drinking together at Abercromby Arms in Stirling Road, Clackmannshire on Saturday night.

A passerby tipped off police about the illegal gathering.

Officers raided the pub and issued all 12 drinkers a fixed penalty notice.

A police spokesman said: "At around 7pm on Saturday, we received a report of people gathered within a premises on Stirling Road, Tullibody.

"Officers attended and 11 men and one woman were issued with fixed penalty notices under the Coronavirus Act 2020."
