Thieves steal thousands of pounds worth of tools in Bathgate

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses following a number of housebreakings in the Wester Inch area of Bathgate.

Between 5 p.m. on Tuesday 8th and 8 a.m on Wednesday November 9, three newly built homes in Bisset Place, which are due for sale, were broken into and £2,000 worth of tools were stolen from inside.

A further unoccupied house within Lang Gardens, Wester Inch was also entered during this time and £600 worth of tools were taken.

Inquiries to trace those responsible are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Sergeant John Fleming from Bathgate Police Station said: “Whoever stole the items from these properties would have required a vehicle to transport them and so anyone who remembers seeing any cars or vans being loaded with tools during Tuesday evening should contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who saw any suspicious activity within the Wester Inch villiage during this time, or who can help us identify the suspects should also get in touch.”
