Teenage boy dies falling from a bridge in Scotland

The young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy has died after falling from a bridge near a busy motorway.

The teenager was found on the M77 in the south side of Glasgow at about 8.45pm last night.

Emergency services attended but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A police spokesman said: "Around 8.45pm on Sunday, 7 June, officers were called to a report of a man fallen from a bridge onto the southbound M77 near junction 1, Dumbreck Road. Police and ambulance attended however the 16 year-old male youth was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
