Sauchiehall Street incident: Two teenagers in hospital after serious assault on Glasgow street

One witness said he saw officers in the area with working dogs.

Two teenagers have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault on one of Glasgow’s main shopping streets.

Officers were called after reports of two men, aged 18 and 19, being seriously assaulted on Sauchiehall Street at about 12.25am on Thursday, July 30.

Witnesses to the scene said they say forensics in the area at about 3am this morning.

Another concerned resident said he saw officers patrolling the area with police dogs.

Detective Inspector Sarah McArthur said: “At about 12.25am on Thursday, 30 July, officers were called to the Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, following reports of two men being seriously assaulted. The men, aged 18 and 19, were conveyed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
