Rescue launched in Arrochar after hillwalkers get lost on The Cobbler during lockdown

It was the team’s first call out since the start of lockdown.

Three hillwalkers have been fined by police after they had to be saved from The Cobbler in the Trossachs by a Scottish mountain rescue team.

Volunteers from Arrochar were called out by police at 3:20pm yesterday, after the hikers, who had travelled more than 50 miles from Motherwell, got lost in the mists around the mountain in Argyll.

The Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team managed to find all three of the lost hillwalkers, and led them down the nearly 900m-high mountain to safety.
