A spokesman for the Fife Cultural Trust, which runs the theatre, said: “Earlier this afternoon, we evacuated the Rothes Halls, after receiving a suspicious communication. Police Scotland have confirmed their enquiries are ongoing.

“We have taken the decision to cancel tonight’s performance of Oklahoma by GAMA and any other bookings for Rothes Halls.

“We will keep customers updated on this via social media and we are phoning round customers with bookings for this evening to ensure that they have all of the information that they need.

“Customers who have bought tickets for tonight’s performance of Oklahoma! at 7.30pm will be offered the options of a full refund, or a ticket for tomorrow’s matinee or evening performances depending on their preference.”
