Paul Robson: Detectives hunt man who travelled to Glasgow after woman killed in England

Paul Robson, 49, is thought to have travelled to Glasgow after a 47-year-old woman was killed and a 15 year-old boy seriously injured in Northumberland.

At about 8.55pm on Sunday, November 15 police were called to an address on Foxcover in Linton following a report of a disturbance.

Both a teenage boy and a woman were found by emergency services seriously injured.

After the attack, the woman involved, 47-year-old Caroline Kayll, was rushed to hospital where she sadly died.

The 15 year-old boy, who is not related to Ms Kayll or Paul Robson, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged from hospital.

Now Northumbria police have released an image of the 49-year-old they are searching for in connection with the incident.

They believe he has travelled to Scotland’s biggest city.

Enquiries to establish the circumstances around the killing are continuing but police are treating Caroline’s death as murder.

Paul Robson, who is from Wallsend, is known to Caroline and enquiries to locate him have been ongoing since the weekend.

Mr Robson is believed to have travelled to Glasgow and Northumbria Police say search activity has been focused in the Scottish city in recent days.

He is described as white, around 5ft5in tall, of slim build, bald and he wears glasses.

Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland, Greater Glasgow's Divisional Commander said: "We are aware of reports that Paul Robson, who is wanted for the murder of Caroline Kayll, may be in the Glasgow area.

“We are assisting Northumbria Police with their enquiries in Scotland and would urge anyone who has information that could assist, or who knows Robson's whereabouts, to get in touch immediately or through Crimestoppers anonymously.

“I would like to assure the communities of Glasgow that this is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no information that suggests Paul Robson is a danger to the wider public.”

Superintendent Paul Milner, of Northumbria Police said: “Extensive enquiries to locate Paul have continued in recent days and we are now appealing for help from the public to locate him."

Superintendent Milner added: “We know that it has caused a great deal of concern, particularly the fact that a suspect in this case has not yet been arrested.

“I want to reassure you that this is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no information that suggests Paul Robson is a danger to the wider public.

“We would stress that this is a live murder investigation and an incredibly difficult time for Caroline’s family and the teenage boy injured in the attack."

“We would urge people not to speculate on any of the circumstances as it could hinder our investigation.

“Anyone who has information that could assist our investigation, or knows the location of the suspect, is asked to get in touch immediately.”

Northumbria Police has been contacted for further information with regards to the Glasgow part of their investigation.

Following Sunday’s incident, a 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in police custody at this time.
