Mauchline drugs bust: Man arrested after £7,000 worth of drugs recovered in East Ayrshire town

An arrest has been made in an East Ayrshire town after police recover thousands of pounds worth of drugs and cash.

Police searched a property in Kilmarnock Road, Mauchline around 2pm on Thursday, January 21.

A quantity of cannabis with street value of £7,000 was recovered money and other items.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the drug recovery.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and he will appear at Aye Sheriff Court at a later date.

Chief Inspector Nathan Calderwood said, "Tackling drug supply remains a key priority in East Ayrshire and this latest recovery demonstrates that we continue to act on information provided by the communities in which we serve."

“Drugs cause devastation to communities and families and Police Scotland will continue to target anyone involved in drugs and the criminality that surrounds it.”

"I would encourage anyone with information on those involved in crime in their community to contact us."
